1.) Sherman Neighborhood Residents can walk to the nearby retail centers for basic services such as dry cleaning, prescriptions, pet care, and food (numerous restaurants and grocers) as well as family-fun places such as the branch library, several neighborhood parks, and Warner Park. A new bicycle connection, Sherman Flyer, is planned to improve the connection from the Northside to Downtown Madison. The North Transfer Metro Station is located nearby for residents to access the bus system and a proposed commuter rail system stop is planned at Dane County Airport. 2.) Brentwood Village Single-family homes on wooded lots is typically for this neighborhood. A small alcove of multifamily dwellings are located directly south of Warner Park, right off of Trailsway. Warner Park, a large community park, provides passive and active recreational options. A stroll through the quiet fields and woods, bird watching in the marshland, and tennis and soccer games are a few of the activities that are offered. Mallards Baseball Stadium is situated in Warner Park: a great outing for fiends and family during the summer months. Residents enjoy the closeness to shopping at Northside Town Center, the recreational activities at Northport Community Center and Warner Park Community Recreation Center, and the short walking distance to the elementary and middle schools. 5.) Lerdahl Park Nestled in the lovely scenic north shore of Lake Mendota, the Lerdahl Park neighborhood enjoys cool breezes and inviting sunshine. Lakefront homes along Woodward Drive to modest single-family homes makeup our rustic feeling, heavily wooded neighborhood. A walk along Woodward Drive, a narrow, wooded road, is peaceful. Neighbors walk to Warner Park Beach for water fun activities and to Governor’s Island to take in the sunrises and sunsets. 6.) North Lake Mendota Meadow Ridge Park, a 28-acre prairie and woodland area, is only one of the natural resources at the finger tips of residents. Cherokee Marsh to the north and State of Wisconsin Mental Health Hospital to the south provide vast acreage of open space and natural beauty.
