Olbrich Gardens Holiday Express – Madison

Olbrich Gardens, located on the near-east side of Madison, Wisconsin is home to a holiday showcase of large-scale model trains winding through whimsical birdhouses and hundreds of colorful poinsettias!

Members of the Wisconsin Garden Railway Society come from all over the state to show off their large-scale model trains during Olbrich’s Holiday Express. You’ll see different trains, depending on the day. This year, trains wind through an enchanted land of whimsical birdhouses.

The exhibited is currently running through Friday, December 31st from 10am-4pm daily (please note that the exhibit will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve 12/24, and will be closed on Christmas Day 12/25).

Cost is $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 3 to 12, and children ages 2 and under are free.

Admission is free for everyone on Wednesdays from 10am-2pm.

Admission is also free Olbrich Botanical Society members.

After your stroll through the Holiday Express, admission is also included to the Boltz Conservancy.

A fun fact about the Holiday Express – Evergreen trees in the show are decorated with energy-efficient LED lights, which use 90 percent less energy than typical incandescent holiday lights!
